Accounts
The app does not ask you to create an account, and it does not offer sign-in.
Data stored on your device
- Draft mix, saved mixes, and master volume.
- Whether you have seen the first-run notice.
- A local cache of whether the one-time unlock is owned.
- Whether the app has already asked for notification permission.
There is no Ashlayer server and no cloud copy of your mixes. Uninstalling the app deletes this local data. You can also delete a saved mix inside the app.
Data we do not collect
Ashlayer does not collect an account, contacts, location, microphone recordings, photos, or an advertising ID. It does not include an advertising SDK or an analytics SDK. Playback does not send your mix to a network service.
Purchases
The optional one-time unlock is processed by Google Play Billing. The app stores only whether that product is owned. It does not receive or store your card number. Google's privacy policy covers Google Play's own processing.
Network and permissions
- Internet and network-state access exist so Google Play Billing can reach Google Play. Playback itself does not need a network connection.
- A media-playback foreground service and a notification keep sound playing and show playback controls.
- On Android 13 and later, notification permission is requested at runtime.
- A wake lock is held while playback is active.
- The app does not request the microphone, location, contacts, or SMS.
Children
Ashlayer is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can delete a mix in the app, turn off notifications in system settings, and uninstall the app to remove local data. Questions about this policy: [email protected].

Ashlayer layers generated ambient sounds on your Android phone and fades them out on a timer. Sounds White, pink, brown, fan, rain, and hum. They are synthesized on the phone. Playback works offline and does not need an account. Timer and background Free timers are off, 15, 30, and 45 minutes. The sound fades out instead of cutting off. Playback can continue with the screen off, and a playback notification stays available. On this phone Name a mix and keep it on the device. The free version stores one mix. Uninstalling the app removes saved mixes. There is no cloud copy. Free and one-time unlock The download is free. There are no ads and no subscription. Before unlock, two sounds can play at once. A one-time purchase through Google Play raises the limits to 6 sounds at once, 50 saved mixes, and timers of 1, 2, 4, and 8 hours. Google Play shows the price in the purchase sheet. If that product is not offered in your country yet, the free limits remain. Privacy Mixes stay on this device. Purchases are handled by Google Play. Ashlayer does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition.
