Stringrow is an Android app that keeps a local string-change log for guitars and other stringed instruments on the phone where it is installed. You enter instrument names, type labels, change dates, optional brand, model, gauge, tuning, and reason notes. You can set optional reminders after a change using an interval you choose. The app does not use the microphone, does not tune for you, and does not decide when strings are worn out or how they should sound. It is not safety or tone advice.

Accounts

Stringrow does not ask you to create an account, and it does not offer a sign-in. There is no Stringrow user profile on a server operated by PocketFoundry.

Data stored on the phone

The app saves a local database that can contain instrument names, type labels, reminder settings, interval days, sample flags, string-change dates, brand, model, gauge, tuning, reason text, whether the sample banner has been dismissed, and whether the one-time unlock is recorded on this phone. That file stays in the app's private storage. Stringrow does not upload it.

You can edit or delete instruments and string changes inside the app. Remove samples deletes only rows that are still marked as samples. Uninstalling the app removes the local file from that phone. A new phone does not receive the old file. Android backup is turned off for this app.

Purchases

Google Play processes the optional one-time purchase (stringrow_more_guitars) that raises the instrument limit from one to eight and enables CSV export. Stringrow uses the Play Billing library to ask whether that product is owned and to show the price Play returns. The app does not receive your card number. Google's handling of payment data is covered by Google's own policies. The Billing library uses the Internet permission. Stringrow does not add an advertising SDK or an analytics SDK.

Permissions

The app declares the Internet permission. The Play Billing library also merges a network-state permission. Both are used when you buy or restore the one-time purchase. Stringrow may request notification permission so optional restring reminders can appear; if you deny it, logging still works. Stringrow does not request contacts, photos, location, camera, microphone, or a foreground service.

Sharing

CSV export, after the one-time purchase, creates a file in the app's cache and opens the system share sheet. The file goes only where you send it. Column headers are English. Stringrow does not sell data and does not share the string log with a server of its own.

Children

Stringrow is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
