Stringrow: Guitar String Log

What it does

One instrument stays free with unlimited string history and optional reminders. You can turn on a reminder and set days from 7 to 730 (commonly near 90) so the phone notifies you when the interval after your last logged change is reached. Notifications are optional; logging still works if you deny permission. A one-time purchase on Google Play raises the instrument limit from one to eight and unlocks CSV export. There is no subscription and there are no ads. The buy button shows the price Google Play returns for product stringrow_more_guitars. Restore purchase asks Play whether this Google account already owns the unlock. Until you unlock, tapping add for a second instrument opens the unlock explanation instead of a blank form. Deleted instruments free a slot. CSV export uses the system share sheet and English column headers: instrument_name, kind, changed_at, brand, model, gauge, tuning, reason.

The first launch includes one sample guitar and two sample string changes so you can see the schedule before you type your own. A banner explains that the sample can become yours. Editing a sample keeps it marked as a sample until you remove samples in Settings, which deletes only rows that are still samples. After you delete everything, the empty state lets you add an instrument again; without the unlock you can keep one.

How a session works

Stringrow keeps a string-change log on this Android phone for guitars and other stringed instruments. You add an instrument with a name and a type label (guitar, bass, ukulele, or other). Each time you change strings, you save a date with optional brand, model, gauge, tuning, and a short reason. The app shows the current strings, how many days since the last change, and a next-due day based on an interval you choose. It does not listen to your playing, does not tune for you, and does not tell you when strings are worn out or how they should sound.

Questions

Does Stringrow tune my guitar or listen to me play?

No. You log instrument names, change dates, and optional notes. Stringrow does not use the microphone, does not tune for you, and does not decide when strings are worn out or how they should sound.

Where is the string-change log stored?

In a local database on this phone. There is no account and no upload. Android backup is off. Uninstalling deletes the file. A new phone does not receive the old file.

What is free, and what does the purchase add?

One instrument is free, including unlimited string history and optional reminders. There are no ads and no subscription. A one-time Google Play purchase (stringrow_more_guitars) raises the limit to eight instruments and adds CSV export. The button shows the price Play returns.

How do reminders work?

After a logged change, the next-due day is your last change date plus the interval you chose (7 to 730 days). If you decline notification permission, logging still works; reminders simply do not appear.
